Oh dear...sorry for lack of weekly drink suggestions...but anyway...
It's here early!
B got to try this out for the first time last year. He said he really liked it. I wasn't able to because I was pregnant, so for it to come out early was so awesome!!
It's so good. Amazingly good. I could drink this every day.
Cheers!

Blue Moon
Blue Moon Beer
Continuing with beer. We recently tried blue moon. It's something our friends drink, but being picky beer drinkers, we've never tried.
Why have I been sheltering myself? I'm in love! No after taste (Miller Lite gives me a strange after taste that usually goes away after my 3rd beer) goes down smooth; it's really good!!! B likes it too.
A+
I will drink this again!!!!
Cheers!!

312
With lent in full swing, E gave up soda and chocolate...kinda hard to make drinks with out those...well soda a least.
So over the next few weeks, we will be trying new beers and writing about them. We're Miller product drinkers (B=MGD E=Miller Lite) so this is a bit out of our element, but trying new things to drink is what this blog is about.
~~~
312 - Urban Wheat Ale
312 is brewed in Chicago by Goose Island Brewery Co. B & E are definitely going to try and go on a tour this summer.
E - I'm a fan. It goes down nicely and I don't have a weird after taste like I get when I drink Miller Lite. This may be my new go to beer.
B - It's ok. I think I like drinking beer out of a glass though. It is good. I will drink it again.
*Fun Fact* Wheat beer should be drank from a tall glass:
So if you are on your way out, try a 312 tonight.
Cheers!!
Brass Monkey
We were listening to music one night and Beastie Boys Brass Monkey came on.
This is a drink and I found many different recipes. This is one that we tried:
Brass Monkey
1/2 oz rum
1/2 oz vodka
4 oz orange juice
Toss the rum and vodka together and stir gently. Pour in the orange juice, and shake well. Pour over ice in a highball or tall glass.
I'm not going to lie...IT WAS HORRIBLE!!!!!!
Seriously. I took one sip and almost gagged.
By the expression I made, B wouldn't even try it.
Defiantly not making this EVER again.
-Cheers!!
Lunchbox
How 'bout a shot. I remeber doing this shot often when I first got to go to bars. I remember I really liked it, but I don't remember why I stopped.
Lunch Box
3/4 bottle beer
1 shot amaretto almond liqueur
1 oz orange juice
Fill a glass almost full with beer. Fill the rest with orange juice (careful not to fill it to the top). Then take the shot of amaretto and drop it into the cup with the beer and orange juice.
We used one of those shot cups:
B was afraid to use glass...
We used MGD for the beer because that is all we had in our house. I'm not a MGD drinker but B is.
B did not like it.
E doesn't remember it tasting like this but maybe it's because it was made with MGD not Miller Lite.
E would like to try this drink again, but the proper way to do it with a higball glass and dropping the shot glass into the beer/oj mixture.
Cheers!!!
S'MORES MARTINI
S'MORE MARTINI
1 oz. chocolate vodka
1 oz. Baily's Irish Cream
1 oz. chocolate liquor (we used Godiva)
1 oz. Cream de Cacao
1 oz. vanilla vodka
2 oz. heavy cream
Toasted marshmallows, graham crackers (crushed), chocolate syrup, bamboo Martini skewers.
Dip the rim of glasses into the chocolate syrup, then into the crushed crackers. Chill glasses in freezer.
Pour all remaining ingredients, except marshmallows, into a Martini shaker filled with ice, and shake until well blended. Pour into really nice glasses. Skewer the toasted marshmallows on the bamboo skewers, place across the rim and serve..for about 2 servings.
I (E) LOVE IT!!!! I drank mine and B's. B didn't like it so much which is a shame.
It is strong, I won't lie but it defiantly is delish!
Fun with UV Cake
We were slacking this week. We didn't pick out a drink. We had parties to attend. Our son had Doctor appointments (you can read about him here) B wasn't feeling good..sigh. Even my post is late!
So I busted out the UV Cake I bought a few weeks back. I was nervous because I wasn't so sure what to expect. I would either love it or hate it. I felt there would be no grey area.
I poured some into a shot glass and dipped a finger in...it was good. Not to vodka-ie not to sweet. I was sold!
B however, did not like it at all and would not even mix it into anything. Double boo!!!
With that said, here is my drink for the week:
Cake float:
Pour 1oz of UV Cake in a tom collins glass of root beer (I used Barq's) and stir.
YUM. It is defiantly something I would drink on occasion. It's an easy drink with minimal ingredients.
I also tried it in some chocolate milk....but we will save that for another post. ;-)
-Cheers!
